As I grew older (into my 40’s), I started having difficulty sleeping. I started taking yoga classes to relieve some tension in my shoulders and back.
It worked, but I also noticed that I started sleeping better too. The problem was that when I wasn’t able to make it to my yoga class, my sleep would suffer.
Then I began a morning meditation practice. This was for a completely different reason, by the way. I wanted to gain more focus during the day so I could be more productive.
The daily meditation practice helped me improve my productivity (once I got around to being consistent!). Coincidentally, I started sleeping better at night, both falling asleep faster and staying asleep for longer.
If a short 20-minute daily meditation routine can help me get more done during the day AND sleep better at night, maybe it can help you too. Right?
